I am sure this has happened to a few of us. If anyone from Blackmagic support is reading this, please take note. Who would have thought it was as simple as just turning your VPN on? What a difference it makes in render times compared to the free version! Totally worth it. ![]() Luckily my system is now working, with all my files/databases backed up and I have DaVinci Resolve Studio 17 on it. I wish I had stumbled across this solution before I erased and downloaded different versions of Resolve. Just make sure your VPN is on before you put your 25 digit activation code and it should be fine. After calling support three times yesterday to no avail, I finally stumbled across the solution in a thread on this forum: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=91480&p=699044#p699044Īpparently you just have to get a VPN service or turn it on just before you launch it for the first time. Does anyone have any idea of what may be the issue? Thanks in advance!Įllory Yu, apparently this has happened before. I really love Resolve, I edited a 20 minute proof of concept on it and I was very excited to have the studio version, but this has turned out to be a very annoying process. I previously had the free version (16) and I already erased everything and tried to install it from scratch to no avail. So does anyone have any idea of what the issue may be? When I go to download the studio version from Blackmagic's site (Version 17), I put my information and provide the serial number (a 7 digit code) to register it and it downloads just fine, but I still can't activate it. ![]() He even tried to activate it in his computer and it worked. But still, I wasn't able to activate it on my PC. So I called technical support and the technician went through the deactivation process and assured me the 25 digit (alphanumeric) activation code was no longer attached to any account or computer. Please contact Blackmagic support for assistance". I tried and it gave me the following message "There was an error when attempting to perform the activation. He already called Blackmagic Design Support to deactivate his old license and they assured him it was ready to be activated on a new PC. The problem is that even though the software has been deactivated, I can't activate it on my PC. Since he doesn't need two licenses he gave me his older one. He just recently bought a speed editor that came with a copy of DaVinci Resolve Studio in a dongle. He got it when he bought his BMPCC 6k about a year ago. So my friend/old employer gifted me his old copy of Resolve studio. ![]()
