It's a party-based game with up to 4 characters. The story is not reserved for single player, nor it should be, and I'm not sure why you think so. then what do it all over again in Multiplayer?. I like the game but once I finish single player. the way you can freely build your character classes and customize them, now what's the worst part I can't use them in multiplayer the way I want to. How was never winter nights 1 and 2 able to do this 14 years ago but yet 14 years later with the resources this game has that's some how a RIDICULOUS expectation for a title that costs 54.99?Īnd so people understand the single player is amazing, graphics are 10/10, story is very good.Īnd the best part about the game. Trying to make a Muliplayer STORY mode makes no sense that's what SINGLE PLAYER is for. It wouldn't chnage single player the story would stay the same. How would that break the story exactly having two different modes. You play for the story, with or without friends. This isn't Diablo 3 either, you can't just hop in and out of a game with your own character, And you don't play it for "the grind and loot". It's impossible to have it work that way without breaking the story. Originally posted by ToXxy:The fact that you think the multiplayer is bad or there's something wrong with it because it's not like YOU want it to be is ridiculous. Unless you're just doing an Arena Horde mode type thing. It's a story focused game, this free mode you want wouldn't really make sense. Other than that, nothing really else to say. Well maybe if you don't have friends that play this, but make some on the forums. Make some friends who you'll play with and have a consecutive game going with. Probably should have read up more on the game before you purchased it then. I'm wondering though does the game scale depending on how many players/characters are in the party if say we decided to play the game with just 2 players using one charater each meaning we're not a maxed out party in terms of possible members is it still possible to beat the game and have fun - or is it a requirement that you bring the 2 extra players or NPCs in order for the game to be enjoyed? Controlling two characters per player isn't exactly the experience I'm looking for, and gathering the same 4 players is slightly tougher than convincing 1 player to join me for the duration of the game on a regular basis in order to beat it. I think that usually to get a good, consistent gameplay experience you need to be with the 'same group of players' playing their respective characters throughout the game and not grouping up with different people at different stages of the game using different characters each time you play. The fact the I have to convince my friends to buy the game or friend a random person I don't know to join my server in order to play a character I made with someone is just straight up stupid.Ĭo-op with custom-made characters is what really appeals to me about this game. There will be many others who will be put off from this game because of the way multiplayer currently is. There should be both a story and free explore multiplayer mode that only uses created characters.Īnd if this is not ever going to be an option What I'm saying is there is single player story mode for the story. for the price I paid I think it's crazy that isn't an option. yet somehow 14 years later and no company can seem to do multiplayer right.) end of the day after the story is done and you finished everything the grind and loot is what will keep people playing or being able to play with their friends how they want to. I play NWN 1 on a multiplayer server and that game manages to make story, loot, grinding, and even RP possible and that game was released in 2002. Well that's what I was expecting when I got the game why not have story free servers where people can just do that play and level their characters with friends (or better yet player made servers including, quests, maps and items. However, eventually there will be a way to customize characters after a game has started. The game is also not designed around respawning opponents and infinite loot, etc, so that would also cause issues. Character development, conversations and quests can influence each other, moving character between different saves would break that.
